Art and Creating and the Perfect Tunic

Art and Creating and the Perfect Tunic

This white tunic (the Gwyneth) has consistently been one of my most popular items.  We’ve tweaked here and there but for the most part, it has had the same general feel.  When I create a piece, I am often inspired, as most designers are, by what is around them; by other creations; by other artists!  When I hold white silk in my hands, I see the wearer as much as the garment.

I’ve just put my 2017 collection into production (I know I’m a bit late but it is island time) and I have to say, seeing it come to life is a wonderful, wonderful event.  It’s one thing to have something in your mind’s eye but it is quite another to hold it in your hands!  The Gwyneth is particularly relevant because it will also be coming back in another iteration (long and short), some embellishments and a sexy neckline and a new name–Michelle.  I have always picked strong women who serve or have served as role models for women in various avenues of life.  Michelle Obama is one of the most inspiring women around these days and her positive messages to our next generation are important to us all.  So, when I was revising this amazing garment, I decided to give it an amazing name.  I can’t wait for you to see the new collection.  I think you’ll love it as much as I do.  In the meantime, sign up for our email and get special discounts as we close out the 2016 collection!

Happy Wednesday!
