My worst Valentine’s Day…..ever…..
Valentine’s Day is three weeks away. There is so much pressure for everything to be perfect. So let me be the first to confess, my Valentine’s Days haven’t always been perfect. My worst? He was my one true love and he forgot everything. No card. No candy. No flowers. He didn’t even take me out to dinner! I was crushed. So when he showed up at my house and wanted to see me. Well, you can guess my reaction. Here’s the thing. I was 8 and he was 10. Were my expectations, even at that young age, just a bit too high? Well, I guess. He did give me the sweetest kiss EVER and we held hands at recess. I guess things could have been worse. It might seem strange for a woman who sells things for you to buy to say, don’t buy into all the commercialism; but its true. I will be spending that special day with the man who won my heart many years ago. We will probably be keeping it low-key–nice dinner out, simple (possibly homemade) cards and a relaxing glass of wine on our deck staring at the ocean. See, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be big to be great. What about you? What’s your worst Valentine’s Day?
